Daniel Pearl Foundation Day, October 10, 2010

The Daniel Pearl Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promote cross-cultural understanding through journalism, music and innovative communications and to unite people through the language of music. The foundation was named after Wall Street Journal reporter, who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan by terrorists in 2002. Danny "earned respect around the globe as a fair and highly-principled reporter and as a bridge-builder who traveled with his violin and mandolin, using music to bring people together."  Dr. Judea Pearl, founder of the organization is asking congregations to, on October 10, select a musical piece during worship to join thousands of other churches, synagogues and other organizations around the world in spreading a message of peace and unity and to promote the work of the foundation.
